Do We Really Need the Government to Regulate in the Free Market?

Milton Friedman, I will admit is a new name to me. I have heard of him before but I was not familiar with his views. A friend of mine sent me a few links to some interviews of his. In an interview regarding government regulation, Mr. Friedman makes some very good points on how the issue. I have always ascribed to the notion, a part of the government's job is to ensure big business were good corporate neighbors. Over the years, that seems to have taken a back seat to the government being funded by and acting on behalf of the corporations to the detriment of the people. Nothing speaks to this more than the Citizens United ruling by the Supreme Court in which business is seen as having the right to vote! While I am not a Libertarian, I am open to listening to the views, and this clip makes a great deal of since to me. She is way too funny! In her keynote speech to the Tea Party Convention, half-governor Palin spent the bulk of her time lambasting President Obama and the Democrats. She spoke of that "hopey-changey-thingy" and wonder how it was working out, she congratulated the new Senator of Massachusetts, Scott Brown, and defended the Tea Party Movement itself. When it came time for a little q and a, the governor often seemed to glance down at her opened hand. What was that about? She hand her top priorities written on her hand!! This is the same woman who blasted the President for using a teleprompter! How can you not remember you "core principles?" Can she get any phonier? Not one person on the Right thinks this might be a problem? Sarah Palin is a mess, and she would be a caricature of a caricature if she wasn't so serious and popular with a large portion of the Right.
