Where are our priorities?

The ice caps are melting, the Earth set to boil, one supposed Democratic Senator is dead-set on denying millions of Americans affordable healthcare, the country remains at war, Main Street is still in a Recession...etc...etc.. but none of that seems to matter at all. At least that is the feeling I get when watching mainstream media. The 24 hour news cycle has become little more than a tabloid magizine with tiny interjections of real news. I can't say "Breaking News" because at this point, "Breaking News" consists of the latest Tiger Woods mistress declaring she has a broken heart! MS_BC, FOX _EWS Channel, _BC, C_N, HL_, and C_BC, are all missing something very important: NEWS! I have begun watching BBC America in the morning to find out what is going on in the world. The airways are chock full of pundits, experts, and insiders but none of them are saying anything useful

To (some) Black Men...why though

Apparently it is super trendy for (some...before the "not all" chorus lifts every voice and sings) Black men to "drag" black women on social media. My question: why though?? What is going on? Okay, Black men who have "issues" with Black women are nothing new. As a Black woman who is "darker than a brown paper bag," I am quite familiar with all the old tropes: "Black women are too ghetto...don't wear their own hair...don't respect Black men...have too much drama...are loud...destroyed the Black family..." etc., ad infinitum. But here lately, it seems, Black men are well and truly taking issue with us in every imaginable way. Tyrese, French Montana, Trick Daddy, and the like all seem to have, what I am sure they deem, serious grievances with Black woman, and I just don't get it. Political blog hiatus is over... just in time for the fall of the Republic

Well Loves, I am back from my..um.. 2 year-long political blog hiatus, and it appears I am just in time for the fall of the Republic. Donald J. Trump is the cotton-picking President of the United States! I will admit, on the night of the election, as the results came in, I cried. Though I was not a big fan of Hillary Clinton's, I most certainly did not want her to lose to the man I call "Cheeto Jesus!" Come on America! Seriously! We go from a professorial President, to one who couldn't spell "professorial" if you gave him the first eleven letters. But, as Americans are wont to do, we dealt in extremes, and handed the country over to a political novice with Neo-Nazi, anti-Semetic, misogynistic, and racists tendencies. *High-Five* Trump has been in the Oval for 87 days, and the world has seen a host of missteps, accusations of incompetence, and of course, the high drama that are his ties to Russia.
